Over the next couple of days, London’s Olympia is playing host again to eCommerce Expo – the UK’s largest e-commerce gathering. Teapot are there today as an official Prestashop partner and a year on from our first visit, things in the ecommerce side of the business are busier than ever.
The Retail Gazette website reported this summer that the UK, US, German & Chinese market is collectively predicted to grow by £320 billion between 2015 – 2018. The article went onto say that £1 in every £5 spent in the UK is online. The way people go online has undoubtedly been a huge factor with mobile searches hitting the 50% mark in May this year. It is therefore interesting to read that currently in the UK, 59% of ecommerce sales are through mobile. As 2015 turns into 2016, the rise in the importance of mobile is set to continue. It’s hard not to agree that the world is adopting a search, click and buy mentality.
Olympia is of course no stranger to big events having been standing for 129 years and nor are Ade, Barry and Nick C. They popped over the Channel to Paris for Prestashop Day this summer and Ade was on stage at BrightonSEO just the other day. Work hard – play hard is the Teapot philosophy, so the opportunity to swap the studio for a vast room of ecommerce bods from around the world is too good to miss. Whatsmore, instead of manning a stand like last year, the Teapot chaps are free to attend seminars, discussion groups, workshops and generally mix with the hundreds of delegates and representatives.
