This Friday evening sees the 10th Somerset Business Awards taking place at Westlands Leisure Centre in Yeovil and we are going to be there! 11 categories in total celebrate the huge diversity and range of businesses here in Somerset and we are very proud to be listed as a finalist in not just one but two of them.

Proud Moment

The last four years since Teapot Creative was founded have been exciting and of course challenging, as we’ve expanded from just two of us (Barry & I in my garage!) to a team of thirteen based in a lovely studio at Bowdens Farm, Hambridge. In this time there’s been plenty of stand out moments but making the final of the ‘Business of the Year’ category (11-25 employees) is hard to top.

The other category we are in the finals for is the ‘Young Employee of the Year’. Felix Marsh our Digital Marketing Project Manager has been with us since April 2012 when Barry and I joined forces with Ade and he was our sole employee. We’ve all been on a journey since then and we would be thrilled for Felix and Teapot if he was to win on Friday.

Tea & Biscuits

Like most good ideas here at Teapot, entering the awards started as a conversation between Ade, Barry and I over a mug of tea. Getting this far has exceeded our expectations, as we knew we were up against stiff competition from across the county.

Business in Somerset is going from strength to strength with the economic downturn that began in 2008 fading ever more into the past. The progress being made is thanks in a large part to the tireless behind the scenes work of the likes of the Chamber of Commerce, the various local authorities and initiatives such as the Somerset Business awards.

Good Luck

We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of the finalists the best of luck for Friday. May the best business win! One thing we can predict with uncanny accuracy is that given our love of a good party I think there might be a few headaches come Saturday morning in the Teapot group!
