East Lambrook Manor Gardens
The doyenne of English cottage gardens, Margery Fish, developed the world famous East Lambrook Manor Gardens in South Somerset during the post-war period. We were brought in by the current owners to help with a rebrand exercise as they felt that the existing logo needed refreshing.
The gardens are particularly famous for their geraniums so we took this as our starting point for developing the new logo. The existing logo had a rose mark so by creating a geranium mark with the help of our client we were continuing this theme and allowing the logo to gently evolve.
The colour scheme and the typography were chosen to give a contemporary feel to this heritage brand. A light green background blends with the blue of the geranium mark and the typography with the eye drawn eventually to the bottom where we included Margery Fish’s name and in doing so recognised the extraordinary woman behind it all.
