Our Big Gig



To create a new brand identity for Our Big Gig – a government funded nationwide free music festival (replaced the existing Bandstand Marathon project). The deadline was extremely tight on this job with only a week to design the brand so that we could proceed with the rest of the work.


Following a naming exercise with all of the involved parties it was clear that the brand needed to reflect the vibrancy of this community musical event. The balance of the three words worked well in a block and an identity was born.

A combination of a bright colour pallet, fun typography, a hand-made feel and a sense of movement helped to link it to music and performance. We coupled this with crowd and musician illustrations, which were developed for speed from stock artwork and then added the strap line and the sponsors logos to produce a rounded, eye-catching solution in very little time!
