Taunton Visitor Centre

Branding

Brief

The Taunton Visitor Centre approached us seeking help with their rebrand exercise. Having recently moved to new premises the client’s branding needed to draw attention to their new base in the town centre allowing them to promote their new home with a fresh new brand identity.

Description

The new visitor centre is located in the old market building right in the centre of Taunton. The logo presents this much loved feature of the county town it in a vector form as the brand mark. The blue and green core colours used as a nod to Taunton Deane Borough Council, the umbrella brand. The simple sans serif typeface was used for the same reason.

The slogan and other information are shown in a more traditional looking serif typeface elegantly matching the architectural style present in the logo. Finally, a stylised letter ‘i’ – the internationally recognised symbol for ‘information’ can either be shown as part of the word ‘Visitor’ or alongside in a larger bold. This gentle modern twist helps make the logo instantly recognisable to tourists and visitors to the town whether they be English speaking or not.
